Cascata is inspired by 'Kirifuri Waterfall on Mount Kurokami, Shimotsuke' by Katsushika Hokusai.

More than a natural element, it becomes a symbol of continuous transformation, a force that both yields and persists. The water descends, breaks, disperses, yet remains whole in its movement. It embodies a paradoxical state of being: surrender and power, dissolution and coherence.

The waterfall can be read as a metaphor for inner experience. Like the flow of water, consciousness moves through different states, sometimes turbulent, sometimes clear, yet always in motion. There is no fixed form, only a process, a becoming that cannot be controlled, only observed.

In dialogue with Hokusai’s vision, the work sustains a tension between structure and fluidity. The vertical fall suggests gravity, inevitability, a pull toward depth; while the fragmentation of water evokes multiplicity, the dispersion of identity before its recomposition.

In this sense, the waterfall becomes a threshold, a place where form dissolves into flow, and where the self is invited to release rigidity and enter a more fluid, essential state of being.
